National Informatics Centre
A digital services platform aimed at 140M+ senior citizens, where accessibility was the product.
Data Science Intern
NIC builds the digital infrastructure Indian public administration runs on. I analysed 20+ user and service parameters for a platform being designed for senior citizens, an audience of 140 million plus for whom a two step form is a wall, and documented the governance and data flow standards the service had to meet to clear compliance. The rest was translation: sitting between teams and turning what users said into recommendations a product person could act on.
What that meant day to day
- Analysed 20+ user and service parameters, informing accessibility and design decisions.
- Documented governance and data-flow standards against government compliance needs.
- Translated user requirements into structured product recommendations across teams.
What I’d point at
twenty parameters isn't a dataset, it's twenty conversations. what I actually took from it is that accessibility gets decided by whoever is in the room, and nobody in the room was ever the user.
